 6 Injured on United Airlines Flight From Nigeria to Washington, D.C.

 
WASHINGTON – Six people, including four passengers and two crew members, were injured during a United Airlines flight from Lagos, Nigeria, to Washington Dulles International Airport on Friday, the airline reported.

The injuries occurred after the aircraft experienced a sudden jolt, prompting Flight 613 to make an emergency landing back in Lagos. The injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were treated and later released, according to CNN.

 


 

The flight carried 245 passengers, along with eight flight attendants and three pilots. United Airlines stated that accommodations, including hotel stays, were arranged for passengers as they were rebooked on alternate flights.

 

Unanswered Questions

The cause of the in-flight jolt remains unclear. United Airlines confirmed that severe turbulence was not responsible and stated it is collaborating with aviation authorities in both the U.S. and Nigeria to determine the cause.
